On the Kepler Track

We headed south from Lake Te Anau on a 5.5 mile walk on the Kepler Track, another of New Zealand’s “Great Walks.” The section we walked mostly paralleled the Waiau River to the Rainbow Reach Bridge. Much of this section is dense forest and just stunning. I had almost expected to meet a band of Hobbits on the trail, but we only met a strider, a Google Maps guy with his 360 degree camera on his back doing a street-view (or trail-view) of the entire Kepler Track. Now our band of hikers is immortalized. At least until the next time a strider documents the entire Track.

Click on this link to see our group on the Kepler Track. You will be taken to Google Maps on a new page. Move along by clicking on the path. The fourteen of us are kind of spread out along the way, but there we are! At least until the next time a strider photo-maps the track.
