Painted Leaves

Deep in the valley which forms the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden, there is an area devoted to calathea. Here, the striped leaves of calathea bella and the red-edged leaves of aglaonema ‘Thai Hybrid’ glisten in the moist and drippy environment of the rain forest.
