Aven Reflection AVEN REFLECTION

Winding through the village of Pont-Aven in Brittany before it tumbles into a tidal estuary, the Aven river passes through the park "Bois d'Amour," made famous by Paul Gauguin and his followers in the 1880s. On one side of the river is the path through the "bois." The other side of the river (really a stream only about 15 feet wide here) is lined with active and inactive industrial buildings. Reflections of some of the buildings' red corrugated metal roofs makes for interesting color on the surface of the water, along with green from the trees, blue from the sky, yellow from fall leaves submerged in the stream, and black from the deep shadows all around.
