Bicycling only a few kilometers south of Montignac along the banks of the river Vezere, suddenly you come across this magnificent castle perched on the bluff on the other side of the river. While this view was free, one has to pay to get into its beautiful gardens to get a different view. Taking out the color in the image and presenting it in sepia tones jettisons the temporal anchor, casting it into a classical timelessness reminiscent of early photography.
