CHATEAU DE FENELON
Built on a hill above the Dordogne river valley in the 14th century, Fenelon is now a peaceful respite in the middle of a manicured park. But during the Hundred Years War, it passed back and forth between English and French hands. After a long hot climb on our bikes up to the castle, we enjoyed a relaxing picnic lunch in the shade of a huge walnut tree, just outside the castle walls.
