FRISEE
Frisee is a variety of lettuce we seldom see here in the US, but it adds such a sparkle to salads. It never keeps well in our refrigerator -- just as well, since it ought to be eaten right away, fresh from the farm to the market to the table. This frizzy frisee was photographed at the Aligre market between Place de la Bastille and Place de la Nation.
