Poubelle mal chaussée, Paris

POUBELLE MAL CHAUSSÉE, PARIS

Throughout Paris, the ubiquitous trashbin (une poubelle) displays its green sack like a flag, announcing its presence and inviting deposits. The streets of Paris are certainly cleaner than they used to be due to the ready availability of une poubelle. This one, near L'église de la Madeleine in the heart of Paris, was a little different, a trashbin with bad shoes (une poubelle mal chaussée). One usually sees better dressed trashbins in that neighborhood. Really, what is Paris coming to?
