POUBELLE MAL CHAUSSÉ, PARIS
Throughout Paris, the ubiquitous trashbin (une poubelle) displays its green sack like a flag, announcing its presence and inviting deposits. The streets of Paris are certainly cleaner than they used to be due to the ready availability of une poubelle. This one, near L'église de la Madeleine in the heart of Paris, was a little different, a trashbin with bad shoes (une poubelle mal chaussé). One usually sees better dressed trashbins in that neighborhood, one of the ritziest shopping districts! Really, what are things coming to in Paris?
