RIVER WEEDS, PONT-AVEN
Pont-Aven is a small town a few miles inland from the south coast of Brittany, France. Running through the middle of town, the Aven River tumbles down to meet the estuary and the sea. Before reaching its final rapids and millraces, the river passes gently through the Bois d'Amour, a peaceful park of tall trees, meandering paths, and impressive rocks. The river weeds create fantastic patterns as they gently swirl back and forth in the current. Dappled sunlight penetrates to the water's surface from the canopy high above creating a mysterious natural cathedral.
