CARNAC STONE, FRANCE
Throughout Brittany are standing stones, ancient monuments installed by a people long since forgotten. At Carnac, thousands of stones march in long alignments. Each stone has its own character and personality, having weathered uniquely over the millennia. Sometimes the huge stones crack and fall over, like this one on the Rue des Menhirs near Erdeven, a few kilometers from Carnac.
