DAY LILY, ANDOVER, NH
Some friends of mine live in an old farmhouse down a dirt road in Andover, New Hampshire. In a field next to the house they used to have a small vineyard, but the experiment failed. Now there is a bumper crop of rhubarb, and in July the day lilies are tall, vibrant, and exhilarating.
