DESERT GOAT, BRYCE CANYON, UTAH
Bryce Canyon is by rights one of the great wonders of the natural world. Even though its climate is basically a dry desert, the forces of erosion, wind, water, and ice, are constantly at work. The dessicated juniper tree trunks one finds in the canyon may be several hundred years old. Many of the twisted and contorted trunks seem to hold figures, spirits from earlier lives locked in the juniper forever, like this goat.
