FALL OAK LEAF
Near where I live in Medford, Massachusetts is a large natural area called the Middlesex Fells. Set aside and protected from development in the 1890s, this area is a favorite for walkers, birders, off-road bicyclists, and nature lovers. In the fall of 2006 I was walking with my mother-in-law and saw the colors on this oak leaf as it was just starting to turn.
