With moss, lichens, mushrooms, wild flowers, oxalis like giant shamrocks, and rain, this was such a primeval forest that it conjured up images of hobbits, ents, orcs, goblins, elves and other denizens of The Lord of the Rings. Did the producers ever even consider Oregon as a possible location for their film?
