ALCAZAR POOL, CORDOBA Cordoba in Southern Spain is hot in the summer. But over a thousand years ago the Moors developed a system of providing water to their luxurious gardens using water wheels and aqueducts. Here, in the gardens of the Alcazar (fortress), thin jets of water, still gravity fed, arc into the air over long reflecting pools, creating a gentle sound while enhancing the light and shadow of the reflected surrounding plantings. This image, as a frame-ready 12x18" archival toner print, is available for purchase at 13FOREST Gallery, Arlington, Massachusetts. The Bank of America purchased two copies of this image for display in their New England offices. |
