Sickles, Bubion, Spain

SICKLES, BUBION

In Bubion, the middle of the three villages in the Poqueira valley in the Sierra Nevada mountains south of Granada, Spain, there is a museum, just off the main square in front of the church. Focusing on farm life in the old days, this little museum is probably the only chance a visitor will get to see the interior of some of the oldest buildings in Spain. Just an average house in a small village, the upper floor was where the family lived, the lower floor housed the animals and food storage. Hanging on one wall near the feed trough was this wonderful collection of sickles. Sepia tone lent itself well to the rusty quality of the tools.
