Spring Jack

I am fascinated by this primeval flower, Jack-in-the-Pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum). When we moved to our house in 1994, we were delighted to find some growing in the yard. Over the years we have been only slightly successful at propagating them. This one was moved from one part of the yard to another and we were worried that it might not take since jacks like very wet feet and the new location is not as wet as its former home. The new location, right at the front of our garden, is delightfully set against a backdrop of bleeding hearts, and the jacks are doing very well there.
